Day by Day Itinerary: Colombo (1 night), Kandy (1 night), Nuwara Eliya (1 night), Ella (1 night), Yala (1 night), Galle (1 night)

Welcome to Sri Lanka.
A warm welcome await you at the arrival lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. Your tour guide will give you a brief introduction and commence the trip to Colombo. Check in to hotel rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy city (122 km / 3.5 hours), and en route, visit a Spice Garden in Mawanella. Gain insights into curry ingredients, distinguish various spices, experience a massage, and have the opportunity for some nature-inspired shopping. Continue your journey to Kandy City. Upon arrival, embark on a walking city tour. Explore the Central Market, glimpse the exterior of the Old Bogambara Prison, take a leisurely stroll around Kandy Lake, and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Buddha, founder of Buddhism. This sacred relic, brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century A.D., symbolizes sovereignty and is enshrined in grandeur. Conclude the day with a captivating Sri Lankan cultural performance.

Tips & suggestions: During the visit of Temple of the Tooth please wear clothing covering knees and shoulders, as a sign of respect. You will also be required to leave your shoes at the shoe counter near to the entrance before entering the temple.

Optional Tour: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Highlight Tour)

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka. Witness the gentle giants during their daily bathing sessions in the river, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The orphanage, established in 1975, not only cares for orphaned elephants but also contributes to vital conservation and breeding programs. Engage with these majestic creatures, learn about their behavior, and support efforts to protect Sri Lanka's elephant population. Located in the scenic town of Pinnawala, this unique experience blends education, wildlife conservation, and the sheer joy of encountering elephants up close, making it a must-visit destination for every traveler.

 

After breakfast, you will depart for Nuwara Eliya. En route, you will explore the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, once cherished by a Kandyan queen. This rose garden, nestled beside a bend in the Mahaweli River, was once the residence of Kandyan princes in the 1st Century. Boasting 4,000 different plant species, it is considered one of the most advanced botanical gardens in Asia. In the afternoon, you will visit a tea plantation and factory for the ultimate tea experience, from plucking young tea leaves to processing in the factory. The tea factory is an ideal place to purchase high-quality tea. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, marvel at the breathtaking views, and check in at the hotel upon arrival.

Tips & suggestions: Please note that you will be ascending to an altitude of 1900 meters, and consequently, the temperature in Nuwara Eliya is expected to range from 20-25°C during the day and 10-15°C during the night. It is advisable to bring warm clothing to ensure your comfort in the cooler climate of Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast, Embark on a picturesque bus journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, winding through Sri Lanka's scenic highlands. As the bus navigates the serpentine roads, be captivated by the ever-changing views of sprawling tea plantations, mist-kissed mountains, and vibrant rural landscapes. The approximately 2-3 hour journey offers glimpses into local life and the verdant beauty that characterizes this region. Marvel at the twists and turns, immersing yourself in the journey's slower pace, allowing for a deeper connection with the breathtaking surroundings. Upon arrival in Ella, you'll be greeted by the charming mountain town, known for its relaxed ambiance and panoramic vistas. promises an enriching experience as you traverse the stunning route from Nuwara Eliya to Ella.

Tips & suggestions: Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear for the bus journey, especially if you plan to explore Ella's landscapes upon arrival.Bring snacks and a water bottle for the journey, as there may not be regular stops.Opt for a window seat on the bus to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery and capture memorable moments along the picturesque route.

You have the option to enjoy your time at leisure or participate in our Yala National Park excursion. If you choose the latter, wake up early at 05:30 am to embark on a visit to Yala National Park with a packed breakfast from the hotel.Nestled in southern Sri Lanka, Yala National Park boasts the world’s highest concentration of leopards. The diverse nature reserve encompasses parkland, jungle, beaches, freshwater lakes, rivers, and scrubland. Besides being home to a significant number of leopards, the park also shelters elephants, crocodiles, wild boar, water buffalo, gray langurs, and various other large animals.But the richness of Yala doesn't end there; the park is also a haven for birds of prey such as whitebellied sea eagles, waders, painted storks, the Indian peafowl, and the Sri Lanka jungle fowl. It's a comprehensive wildlife experience that will leave you in awe.

Tips & suggestions: Explore Yala National Park with an early morning safari for optimal wildlife encounters. Equip yourself with binoculars and a zoom lens to capture the diverse fauna. Dress comfortably in neutral tones for the safari experience. Respect park rules, maintain a safe distance from wildlife, and consider hiring a knowledgeable guide for an enriching adventure.

After breakfast, you will depart for Galle. En route, As you approach Galle, stop by Mirissa Beach for its beautiful sandy shores and vibrant beach atmosphere.Just before Galle, visit Unawatuna Beach for its picturesque bay and vibrant beachside cafes.Arriving in Galle, explore the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with charming streets, boutiques, and colonial architecture.
